Storwell Bursary– Storwell offers an annual bursary of $2000 in support of foster children to help them attend post-secondary schools and to offer a hand up as they make their way forward in life. Monashee Outdoors Bursary: The due date for this Bursary is March 13, 2023
Monashee Outdoors in Armstrong is providing a bursary in the amount of $500 to one Grade 12 student. Applicants must have some experience related to outdoor recreation or animal/environment conservation and enrolling/planning to enroll in studies related to earth or animal sciences including conservation or environmental programs. Please see the attached document outlining the requirements for this bursary. Applications must be dropped off in person to Monashee Outdoors or emailed to info@monasheeoutdoors.ca. Please ask at the office if you have any questions or concerns. Please see the Grade 12 2023 Team for the application form.
Armstrong Fish and Game Association Bursary: Students must be in Grade 12 at PVSS. Students must be pursuing a post-secondary education in wildlife, fisheries, conservation, veterinarian services or related discipline. Recipient will be a deserving student who has shown initiative and good citizenship. Financial need will also be considered. Please send a letter of application along with your resume, and letter of reference to : adfga2011@hotmail.com by March 13, 2023. If you have any questions or concerns, please ask at the PVSS office.
Tolko Scholarship 2023: The due date for this Bursary is March 17 2023.
Do you have a parent that works for Tolko? If yes, you may be eligible to apply for one of three scholarships of $1000- Armstrong Lumber, Armstrong Plywood and Eagle Rock Nursery have all provided a $1000 scholarship to eligible Grade 12 students. Please email a copy of your application, cover letter (includes information about your connection to the Tolko employee), resume, reference letter and any other pertinent information to pvs@sd83.bc.ca and it will be forwarded on your behalf. Or, please drop your application off at the PVSS office. Please have this completed and turned in by Friday, March 17, 2023. Masonic Grand Lodge Bursary: The Grand Lodge of British Columbia and Yukon, through their Bursary Fund, annually grants a number of bursaries to students residing in British Columbia and Yukon and attending institutions in British Columbia and Yukon. Consideration will be given to students attending other institutions in Canada if similar programs or courses are not offered in British Columbia or the Yukon. Applications must be received at the address noted no later than 3:00 pm, Wednesday, 15 March 2023. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered. Masonic Bursaries are intended to assist the advanced post-secondary education of promising young people who otherwise would not be able to continue their education in full-time graduate and/or diploma courses. Although consideration is given to scholastic standing, Masonic Bursaries are granted primarily on the basis of financial need. Students may find application information on the Grade 12 2023 Team.
Future Entrepreneur Bursary: The Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce will award one, $500 bursary in recognition of the contributions by President Peter Rotzetter- both through business and community betterment. Preference will be given to students planning to establish a business within the communities of Armstrong and/or Spallumcheen. Students must be residents of either Armstrong or Spallumcheen. Applications can be emailed to manager@aschamber.com anytime between now and May 1st. Please see the attached document for further information. Don Haak Memorial Koda Scholarship: The purpose of this scholarship is to assist worthy students to further their education in the field of agriculture or related studies. Please see attached letter and application for more information. The application is due to the KODA office, either by e-mail, by May 1st. 2023. Watch for information about the BC Excellence Award and the Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship on the Grade 12 2023 Teams page. Deadlines for these scholarships is in February 2023.
Many of these scholarships, bursaries, and awards require reference letters from teachers or administrators. We are happy to help students with these letters, but we do require students to fill out a reference letter template (available in the Career Centre) and to ensure that there is plenty of time before the deadline.
